THEDDLETHORPE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
DRAFT Minutes of the Annual Parish meeting held on Thursday, 24 April 2025, 19:00
Theddlethorpe Village Hall, Silver Street, Theddlethorpe All Saints.
Chair: Cllr K Simpson
Parish Clerk: Mrs S Bristow
Number of people in attendance: 18
Item APM/25-01 Chair’s Welcome
The Chair opened the meeting at 19:00 and welcomed the parishioners to the meeting. The minutes of the 2024 Extraordinary meeting were signed by the Chair.
Item APM/25-02 Discussion and Representations
2a Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue Service
• Unfortunately, representatives did not arrive as anticipated. We will seek to reappoint them for a later meeting.
2b Clerk outline of apologies received:
• National Power Grid will be attending the village on 14th May and more information about this drop in session will be provided in the coming week. They will park their customer services van outside the King’s Head pub following the Village Hall assessing a £50 charge to park up. Two Village Hall committee members asked for it to be minuted that they were unaware of this request or charge being requested.
• Viking CCS were unable to attend on short notice, following their approval from the planning inspectorate, and the Clerk is now waiting for them to advise on public consultation dates.
• Theddlethorpe Flex Gen turned down the invitation as they are moving directly to the Planning Inspectorate.
• National Grid Pylons and EGL 3 and 4 projects are already with the Planning Inspectorate and therefore were not approached to attend.
Item APM 25-03 Financial Report
The AGAR was noted as having been internally audited and was ready for resolution at the 22nd May Parish Council meeting.
Item APM 25-04 Resident’s Questions and comments of the Parish
Members of the public were directed to the Trustees of the Elizabeth Rook charity for queries regarding same. One Trustee noted that an AGM had been requested and would soon be publicised.
Comments were passed on from an LCC Highways officer that our village has more speed signs than many others.
Residents continued to raise concerns about speeding on Rotten Row and the use of Thacker Bank as a rat run, with all manner of vehicular traffic using the route, usually on advice of a Sat/Nav. The Clerk noted the PC had requested the new 30mph limit on Mill Road to continue to the intersection of the A1031 and Rotten Row; LCC Highways noted that this would require a speed study. It was reiterated that LCC was powerless to ask Google, etc, to stop recommending this route.
Finally, a query was raised about the new defibrillator, and the Clerk advised she is still chasing up National Power Grid and will speak to them on 14th May.
There being no further business, the Chair closed the meeting at 19:18 and advised the public that she would not be seeking the Chair at the May meeting and thanked all those who had supported her over the past two years.
